Collaboration

I love working with other creatives and I'm always on the look out for collaborators, whether that's makers, actors, directors, producers, designers... if my work aligns with your work, I'd love to have a chat.

Dramaturgy

As well as writing and making theatre, I support other writers to realise their work for stage. My work as a dramaturg is informed by 10+ years experience working with writers. I was Graeae’s Literary Manager for 5 years, and before that worked in the new writing department at the Royal Court Theatre.

Teaching and facilitation

I’ve taught playwriting to undergrads, young people, D/deaf and disabled writers, homeless writers, and writers in prison. Most recently I've lead a 5-session "write your first short play" course for Theatre503, tasters for local Walthamstow residents with Soho Theatre, a 10-week playwriting course in prison with Synergy Theatre Project, an 8-week writing for radio course with Synergy, and poetry for change workshops with Hydrocracker Theatre. My workshops approach is friendly, inclusive, non-hierarchical and artist-led. I cover craft topics such as structure, character, action, dialogue, and theatricality, and I like to explore individual writing/making processes and unpack how writers' work can interact creatively with access tools such as BSL and audio description.

I've offered feedback to hundreds of writers through my career. I’ve read for theatres such as the National Theatre, Royal Court and Synergy and prizes such as Bruntwood Prize, Theatre Uncut Award and Koestler Awards.

Together we will design a bespoke framework for moving your work forward, and I will build deadlines, accountability and opportunity for reflection into a structured process of 1:1 support that involves feedback on your work.
